Terry’s Story
Terry Barkman speaks and writes about Leader Development & Team Building. His upcoming book, Leadership Under Construction, draws lessons from a previous life as a Construction Electrician and Contractor. The leadership and team building practices that work in the literal mud, rain, and pressure of a construction site are surprisingly easy to apply in organizations of every kind.
Within Team Building & Leader Development, some of his favorite topics include neuro inclusivity, creative collaboration, and radical worthiness—the human skills that help people feel seen, valued, and able to contribute their best work.
As a Speaker, Author, Consultant, and Sailboat Coach, Terry helps Leaders and Team Builders create sustainable momentum without burning themselves or their people out. His work sits at the intersection of leadership, collaboration, connection, and human development.
Leadership and Team Building matter deeply to Terry because he believes that people and relationships are the most important part of what we do. Whether on a construction site, in a boardroom, or aboard a sailboat, the same skills help people build trust, navigate uncertainty, and accomplish more together than they ever could alone.
Terry thrives working with Leaders & Team Builders at every level. From keynote stages and workshops to executive retreats and sailboat experiences, he brings practical tools, meaningful conversations, and sustainable navigation for people who want to grow themselves, their teams, and their organizations.
